This kitchen is in a 1910 Villa in Auckland. The house needed an update on the white kitchen but the owners didn't want to lose the feel of being in an older home.
The kitchen design is transitional rather than contemporary with Oak veneer T&G door detailing. As the kitchen opens directly into the dining area the owner wanted to make the cabinetry more as a piece of furniture rather than having a utilitarian feel and accordingly we selected to use brown horn handles with a bronze shank from Ochre. The bench tops and splash back are in Elba white marble. The Gagganau extractor is hidden behind doors with frosted glass doors either side. We moved the wall with the elements 30cm into the neighbouring new bathroom and extended is 30cm into the dining area to allow for additional cabinetry increasing the overall size of storage dramatically.
